Cypress Essential Oil - BIO

Cypress is an evergreen tree, with slender branches and a conical shape.Bears small flowers and round, brown-gray cones with seeds inside.Originally from eastern Mediterranean, now grows wild in France, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Spain, North Africa and Balkan countries.Cultivation and distillation are usually held in France, Spain, Austria and Morocco.

The wood is hardwood and durable, red-yellow.The Phoenicians and Cretans used the wood for construction, and to sculpt statues of Greek gods.

The Greek word "sempervirens" which is derived botanical name means "everlasting life", the tree gave its name of Cyprus.
